Frequently Asked Questions
How heavy are your coffee tables?
Roughly 100 pounds for a standard size table (50" L x 30" W) – that’s it!
When people think of concrete, they tend to think that it’s going to be extremely heavy. And typically, yes that would be the case. But our patent-pending formula makes our concrete ultra-lightweight – at just a third of the weight of conventional concrete, yet even stronger. If any of our standard size coffee tables (50" L x 30" W) were made with regular concrete, it would weigh significantly more (300 pounds vs. just around 100 pounds!)
Like a featherweight boxing champ, our concrete is lighter AND stronger.
How long does it take to receive my purchased piece?
All of our pieces are made-to-order. Please expect 5-9 weeks* to produce your piece (plus freight shipping time), depending on the model. For example, consoles will take longer to turn around than most of our rectangular or square shaped coffee tables. If you need your piece sooner than that, then for an additional fee we can expedite your order. Please email us the details of your timing needs.
All models can be customized (dimensions, colors, finishes, etc.), which will incur extra cost and time.**
We do not start production until payment for your piece is received in full. Once we receive your full payment, we will keep you updated on the status of your order, and let you know when it’s ready to ship.
*For an additional fee, we can expedite your order.
**All customizations incur additional costs, and time. An additional 3-4 weeks to turn around custom dimension. And an additional 2-3 weeks to turn around a custom color, in order to allow sufficient time to create one batch / round of custom color swatches, then ship them for your review and final approval.
Do you deliver / ship outside of Southern California?
Yes we do. For a reasobable fee, we will have your piece delivered locally within Los Angeles County, Orange County, and certain other parts within Southern California. And if you live outside Southern California, within the continenal U.S., we are happy to arrange shipment on your behalf with our preferred 3rd-party carrier. We can also make arrangements should you prefer to use your own shipping carrier – just let us know.
For shipping quotes, please email us the name of the model you’re interested in, along with your zip code.
What kind of payment do you accept?
We accept payment via Zelle (preferred), all major credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express (service fees may apply), Venmo (service fees may apply) and PayPal (service fees may apply). We now also offer payment installments via AfterPay (please email us for details).
Can your tables be used outdoors? Are they weatherproof?
Our pieces can be used either indoors or outdoors. All of our tables come sealed to protect them from regular use.
However concrete is after all a naturally porous material, and if a table is exposed to extensive sun, moisture, humidity, rain or snow, over time it will develop a patina. Some of our clients actually prefer that weathered look, and will purposely leave their tables outdoors, uncovered.
If you don’t want that for your table, then you should care for it as if it were a wood table or deck. Either cover it when not in use, or seal it with a clear weatherproof sealer once a year (test a small area towards the bottom of the piece to see how the sealer affects the color once it has dried).
When ordering one of our tables, let us know if you plan on using it outdoors, and if you want it to be extra sealed.
Do they age, patina, etc?
Yes. Concrete is a naturally porous material. So even though our pieces are sealed, they can patina over time as it ages. If your table is used outdoors, it will patina faster as it is exposed to the elements over time.
Can they chip or crack?
While concrete is extremely strong, the edges of a piece can be more delicate. Just as you wouldn't drop or bump heavy objects on a stone or glass piece, because it may chip or get damaged, the same care should be considered when handling your concrete piece. Concrete is durable, but no material is indestructible.
Also, hairline cracks in concrete can be expected over time. These very small, hairline cracks are NOT a sign of lack of quality, and they will not affect the structural integrity of the piece.
How easy to clean are they?
Pretty easy! For regular maintenance just dampen a soft dust cloth with water, and wipe the surface clean. Do NOT use heavy-duty cleaning chemicals or solutions. If you need to use soap, please use a small amount of a mild liquid soap, with water. Clean off the soap right away with a wet, wrung-out dust cloth, then pat dry with a dry soft dust cloth.
How about if I spill a beverage, like red wine?
Although all of our pieces are sealed, if you spill a drink, wipe it clean immediately. Treat it as if it were a wood table. Use coasters for your beverages. And never let spilled liquid stay on the surface for too long or overnight, because it will leave a stain. And of course, be careful with dark, colored liquids such as sodas or red wine, which can be notoriously difficult to clean (particularly for our lighter colored pieces).
For those lighter colored pieces, (white, pink or light gray, etc), if you do spill red wine or some other dark liquid and don’t clean it immediately, the stain will linger. In which case, use liquid dish soap with a little water, and a non-metal stiff bristle brush to gently scrub out the remnants of the stain. Clean off the soap right away with a wet, wrung-out dust cloth, then pat dry with a dry soft dust cloth. Please do NOT use Magic Eraser as it leaves a residue that does not come off.
How about scuff marks?
If you accidentally scuff your table / piece while walking by it with your shoes, then clean it immediately. Use the same method as mentioned above (re: red wine). Always treat your designer table / piece with care.
Are the dimensions of your pieces customizable?
Yes! If you need any of our pieces to be bigger or smaller, taller or shorter – we can do it. In fact, we’ve customized many of our pieces to a wide range of different sizes.
However, it will incur an extra fee. Since all of our pieces are handmade, we will have to build a new mold to the exact dimensions you’re requesting, which of course requires extra time and labor. And some models are more labor-intensive than others, such as the round ones: Luna, DJ Noir and DJ Rosé. So those would require even more time and labor to customize.
Also depending on the model, some of the proportions and features could alter in a way that you may not anticipate. If that’s the case, we’ll always share our recommendation with you to help guide your decision on which dimensions make the most sense for your space.
How about colors? Are those customizable too?
Yes. Our color palette includes black, charcoal, gray, white, pink and light turquoise. However, say you want the DJ Rosé table in a lighter color*, we can do that. Or do you prefer a bolder, darker shade? We can do that too.*
For a very particular custom color, we will send color samples for your review and apprvoal. Due to the handmade nature of our pieces and use of natural materials, the final piece may have a slight variation -- which is what makes each piece special and unique. Each piece is handmade with care, by humans, for humans.
Hence, color swatches are for reference.**
*Custom colors, or colors outside our existing palette will incur extra cost, and time to turn around.
**We can't guarantee "exact" color or texture matches, but we'll get as close as possible.
How about the surface finishes? Can you customize that?
Absolutely. We can control the texture of our finishes from smooth / semi porous (closest to the “natural” look of concrete), to very rough for a deliberately “raw” look -- just in certain sections (such as parts of the Béton Punk table), or throughout the piece.
How about a completely different, custom shape or design?
Of course! We have plenty of experience working on custom projects. If you can dream it, we can make it (just as long as the design obeys the rules of physics). Email us, and we’ll start the conversation.
We just don’t do countertops.
Can I see the tables in person before I buy one?
Absolutely. If you’re in Southern California, you can visit our studio and showroom in Los Angeles. We open to the public by appointment only, so email us and let us know when you’d like to come by and we’ll schedule a visit.
Handmade in Southern California, by humans, for humans... Meaning?
All of our bespoke pieces are made-to-order, and entirely handmade. No machines, no 3D printers, no robots, no AI. And never at a factory overseas. Stricly at our studio in Southern California by real, human artists.
Every effort is made to ensure an accurate representation of product colors, finishes and dimensions, but due to the handmade nature of our pieces and use of natural materials, the final end product may have a slight variation. Color swatches are for reference only. Bridge + Fog cannot guarantee exact color or texture match for any product finishes. Remember, we're all humans over here.
Do you provide warranty?
Our pieces are guaranteed for one year against any mechanical defects or technical failures. Should an issue arise with your product please inform us immediately so we can address the issue, or replace and repair if needed. PLEASE NOTE -- We cannot be held responsible for the following: changes and patina to the surface over time, damages caused by improper care or harsh cleaning solutions / chemicals (such as Magic Eraser), damages caused by improper use (such as putting dirty shoes on a table / piece, standing on top of table or piece, dropping objects on a piece, placing food or drink without proper tableware or coasters, spilled beverages, sauces, food, etc.), damage caused by exposure to weather or environmental conditions both indoors and outdoors, damage caused by improper installation / moving of a piece, or damage caused by typical wear-and-tear including, but not limited to: scratches, chips, cracks and stains.
What if my piece arrives damaged?
Our pieces are checked thoroughly before they leave our studio, before and after being crated. However, upon receiving your new piece you discover a defect or damage -- please contact us immediately and we will fix the problem. Damages MUST be documented, photographed and reported within 48-HOURS of receipt. We also recommend you inspect the crate / package BEFORE opening it. There should be absolutely no holes or punctures on the crate / package. If there are, please photograph it immediately before opening the crate / package. And if damage did occur during shipment, you must keep and store the original crate and packaging, and photograph it in order for the insurance claim to be successfully processed.
What is your return policy?
Due to the custom, made-to-order nature of our work, unfortunately we are not able to accept returns or offer exchanges. All sales are final.
